The annual Bridge Race in Selfoss takes place on Saturday, August 6th, 2022.
Distances
Running distances are 10 km, 5 km, 3 km fun run and 800 m Sprotahlaup Kids Run for kids 8 years and younger.
There will also be a 5 km cycling competition (fun cycling, not a fast race course).
All running routes are certified and measured by an authorized person. Timing is for all distances (chip timing).
Timing and locations
- Runners for 10 km will start at 11:30 am
- Runners in the 5 km race will start at 12:00
- Participators in 5 km cycling will start at 11
- Runners in the 3 km fun run will start in the center of Selfoss at 11:30 am
- Runners in the 800m Sprotahlaup Kids Race will start in the center of Selfoss at 12:30 p.m
All participants finish in Sigtún Park in the center of Selfoss.
Age groups and awards
Age groups are in the 5 km and 10 km races and prize medal is awarded for 1-3rd places in each age group and also for 1.-3rd place independent of age for both men and women, in each distance.
Prize medal is awarded for 1.-3rd places in the 3 km run and 5 km cycling, in men's and women's categories.
In addition, raffle prizes will be drawn from among the contestants and awarded to the lucky ones as soon as they reach the finish line. The award ceremony will take place in the center of Selfoss, at the end of the race, at 13:00.
Registration and price
Registration takes place here at hlaup.is, see at the top of this page and at the Landsbankinn in Selfoss while pre-registration is in progress, but also on the day of the race from 09:00 at the Landsbankin in Selfoss. Pre-registration ends online, Friday, August 5 at 20.
Registration fees for pre-registration:
- ISK 1,500 for 16 years and older for 3 km, 5 km run and 5 km cycling.
- ISK 1,000 for 15 years and younger 3 km, 5 km run and 5 km cycling.
- ISK 1,000 for the 800m Sprotahlaup Kids Run
- ISK 3,500 for all participants in a 10 km race
A family discount is provided, so couples pay full price for themselves and two children aged 15 and under, but if there are more children, they participate free of charge. All family members must be registered at the same time and use the appropriate discount code.
The following discount codes are used for family registration here at hlaup.is:
- FJOLSK-A: ISK 5,000 - Parents participate in 5 km (run or bike) or 3 km. Children in 5 km (run or bike), 3 km or Sprotahlaup Kids Run
- FJOLSK-B: ISK 7,000 - One parent for 10 km and the other parent for 5 km (run or bike) or 3 km. Children in 5 km (run or bike), 3 km or Sprotahlaup Kids Run
- FJOLSK-C: ISK 9,000 - Both parents in a 10 km race. Children in 5 km (run or bike), 3 km or Sprotahlaup Kids Run
Registration fees after pre-registration ends:
- ISK 2,000 for 16 years and older for 3 km, 5 km and cycling
- ISK 1,500 for 15 years and younger 3 km, 5 km and cycling
- ISK 1,500 for the 800m kids' Sprotahlaup Kids Run
- ISK 4,500 for all participants in a 10 km race
Those who do not want to receive a T-shirt marked with the race can decline it during pre-registration, and the race fee will be reduced by ISK 500. The tops are made of dry-fit material used in running clothing. In the Sprota race, t-shirts are marked Sprota and all participants receive a t-shirt. It is not possible to opt out of a shirt in that race against the reduction of the race fee or if you want to take advantage of the family discount.
Delivery of bib numbers is on race day at Landsbankin in Selfoss, from 09:00. All participants receive a competition T-shirt upon registration and a prize medal at the finish line.
Other information
All competitors will get an entrance free of charge in the Selfoss Swimming pool after the race, offered by the municipality of Árborg, on presentation of their race number. Results will be published on hlaup.is and timataka.net.
