Orkusalan's Northern Lights Race starts at 19:00 outside the Reykjavík Art Museum Hafnarhúsið.

Warm up starts at 18:00 at the Reykjavík Art Museum Hafnarhúsið. DJ Dóra Júlía takes the stage first and warms up the runner's. At 18:40 Páll Óskar steps on the stage and controls the warm up and brings everyone into the zone.

The race ends in Hafnarhúsið where drinks are served and it will be possible to take a photo of yourself in a Photobooth.

It can be expected that it will take participants between 20-70 minutes to complete the race. Note, however, that there is no time trial and this is not a competition, but an experience.

The course

The race starts at the Reykjavík Art Museum Hafnarhúsið. From there the race is in Harpa and then up Skólavörðustígur in Hallgrímskirkja. Inside Hallgrímskirkja is the only part of the route where you can not run. From Hallgrímskirkja you run down to Hljómskálagarður and from there to Reykjavík City Hall. The race ends in Hafnarhúsið, where cool AVA fruit water is offered.

The running course is about 5 km long. You can shorten your route by 1 km by turning into Fjólugata from Njarðargata instead of going to Smáragata. This shortening will be specially marked along the way and may be suitable for those with younger children or those just tired.
