The FH Race Series 2025 - February

The FH Race Series 2025 series will be held in January, February and March. The races are also individual point competitions. The races will be certified by FRÍ.

Location and time

The races start at 19:00 on the footpath opposite the Sports Hall on Strandgata in Hafnarfjörður.

Registration and participation fee
  • Adults (15 years and older) = 1,800 kr (4,400 if paid for all three races at once)
  • Children (0-14 years) = 1,000 kr (2,000 kr if paid for all three races at once)

Registration and payment are made at netskraning.is. It will also be possible to register on site.

Timing

All participants must have a race number. The race number includes a timing chip. The numbers will be handed out at the Sports Hall on Strandgata on the day of the race between 17:30 - 18:45. Participants are kindly asked to respect these time limits. The race number is reusable and can be used in all three races, be careful not to bend.

Pacers will run at 20 min, 25 min and 30 min.

The race route

You can see a map of the route at the bottom of this page. The race start is on the path opposite the Sports Hall on Strandgata and is on the footpath along the Hafnarfjörður coastline to the north along Herjólfsbraut, turn left onto Naustahlein and from there back onto Herjólfsbraut and back the same way.

  • The route is fairly flat and ideal for improving.P
  • art of the race route is on the road and participants are asked to take this into account and exercise caution. There will be track guards on the race route and at intersections where traffic will be closed.
  • 1 km, 2 km, 3 km and 4 km cones will be placed on the race route.
  • Participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the race route.

Awards and closing ceremony

Awards will be awarded for the first three places in the men's and women's categories, regardless of age group, after each race and the awards ceremony will take place in the Sports Hall on Strandgata immediately after the race.

The awards ceremony for the running series will take place at the closing ceremony, which will be held in Sjónarhóll in Kaplakrika (date to be announced later).

The overall winners of the men's and women's races will be awarded for their combined results in all three races, as well as prizes for the first three places in each age group for men and women.

There will also be a grand prize draw, with the chances depending on the number of races a participant runs;

  • Three races = triple the chances of winning
  • Two races = double the chances of winning
  • One race = single chances of winning

Participants will be given a free entrance after the race in Suðurbæjarlaug (Hringbraut 77) swimming pool.
