updated 24. August 2020

Although Reykjavik Marathon was postponed due to Covid 19, many runners ran the Reykjavik Marathon Charity Run by choosing their own distance and collect donations for Icelandic charity.

Doing this Icelandic runners managed to celebrate the day, running their own course and raising money for charities.

The day was celebrated with a 10 k charity run, groups of various people shared the distance and raised money for charity. Among the charity runners were the Icelandic president and experienced runner Guðni Th. Jóhannesson and his wife Eliza Reid. The president and his wife started the race with the comedian Steindi, then followed by  Iceland  top runners Arnar Pétursson and Elín Edda Sigurðardóttir.

It is still possible to make a donation at hlaupastyrkur.is until midnight of 26th of August.
